About Us
The Copper Crust is a pastry cafe with handmade Croissants, Danish, Chocolates and more. We make everything with real butter, natural ingredients, and local ingredients when possible. Our passion for honoring natural foods and their flavors is what we can’t wait to share with you. Sean and Nicole met following their dreams at the world renowned Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park New York. Nicole was studying baking and pastry while Sean was studying the culinary arts and wine. Nicole has a European background and spent time studying in Italy. While at the CIA she was lucky to live above and assisted teaching classes with world renowned sugar artist Betty Van Norstrand (teacher of Ron Ben Israel, Buddy, Colette Peters and many more). Sean quickly excelled in wines and began working as an assistant wine maker for Millbrook Winery. As the two apprentice chefs were falling in love with their art and each other, their dreams became one and they were married in 2003. They spent most of their time developing business concepts, catering and honing recipes into what they consider having respect for the ingredients, filled with love and simply put– outrageously delicious.
We feel very lucky to be living in York Pa., and to especially be opening our vision in downtown York at Central Market among our friends the farmers, and fellow artisans.
We look forward to meeting you,
Sean & Nicole
